National Institute of Migration (INM) agents and National Guard (GN) soldiers found 175 migrants, including 30 unaccompanied minors, traveling in crowds in a truck trailer this Friday.
The driver was arrested in the central city of Chiapa de Corzo, the scene of a tragedy in December 2021, when 49 immigrants died in a transport accident on which they were traveling. The Mexican newspaper ‘Proceso’ reported.
According to INM, agents stationed at this key point of the human trafficking route counted 154 from Guatemala, 14 from Ecuador, three from El Salvador and one from Pakistan.
