MADRID, March 21 (EUROPE PRESS) –
LaLiga ends this Tuesday the World Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the II week of LaLiga against racism, an initiative launched by EA SPORTSTM that aims to raise awareness of the importance of people coming together to stop racism inside and outside the city. outside the football fields.
Numerous actions have been carried out over the past seven days, such as that of the clubs last day, posing with commemorative shirts specially made for the occasion or with toblerones emblazoned with the word ‘Unity’.
The captains also wore the image of the initiative on their bracelets, which was also reflected in other activations such as LEDs, 3D carpets or the virtualized image of ‘Unity’ that was shown in the Clásico at Camp Nou during the broadcast.
On the pitches, awareness messages were heard over the clubs public address system and read out on the video scoreboards. In addition, the clubs themselves share videos with motivational messages from their players through various channels, encouraging fans to join the initiative.
The initiative by LaLiga and EA SPORTSTM was also present at FIFA 23, where players could choose this commemoration and awareness pack for their teams. In fact, they will be able to do this until the end of the season. On social networks, the initiative’s videos generated more than 13 million views and its content had 33 million impressions.
“This project is just one piece of LaLiga’s puzzle to end racism. LaLiga is permanently working to identify and report any form of racist chanting or potential hate crimes that take place inside and outside professional football stadiums over several seasons and, in addition, acts as a private prosecution in those where it is legally possible,” emphasizes LaLiga.
LaLiga has also set up an email and a Telegram channel for fans to contact and facilitate the identification and reporting of those engaging in racist behaviour. These channels are the email S[email protected] and the Telegram channel StopRacismoLaLiga.
